Z-Ann's birth (030309)

Delivered Z-Ann (weighing 2.95kg) on the 3rd March 2009 at 831am via c-sect. Delivery was smooth and recovery was superb! She had 2 cords round her neck and 2 rounding her legs. She was a little jaundice, at 3rd day her level was 7.1, so discharged her and took her back to test her blood at day 5, level went up tp 13.5, then test again on day 6 it came down to 12.2. At day 8 the nurse came to check and asked to tst her blood for jaundice again, however her level at day 9 was 9.1 and was asked to check again on day 11 which dropped to 6.5. Phew... poor little girl's heel was pricked 5 times altogether! OUCH!!!

SHe's feeding well and has been a calm and good baby, didn't make much fuss though hope she'll be like this throughout her infant year. Initially when discharged she was drinking 1 oz every 2 to 3 hourly, then increased to 2 and these two days she's taking 3 oz per meal 3 hourly... i am feeling like a cow, expressing whole day as i can't latch her well, so guess i am gonna express exclusive for her... Her weight has dropped a bit on the 10th day to 2.5 kg when the nurse weighed her but nothing alarming as this is usually due to the loss of water after birth.

The two brothers are coping well and behaved well too after the arrival of their lil sister, thank goodness both loved her very much and will do anything for their sister.

Day 13

More demanding and she can take 3 oz of milk per feed now.

False Alarm

This is the second time i had false alarm throughout this pregnancy. The first was on d 3rd Feb 09 where i had close regular contractions , every 5 minutes. Took ventolin and my whole body was shaking and had palpitation. Went to see the dr, luckily things were fine but gotta go back if contraction din stop. Last nite at 3 am, i was panic cos when i went to pee, suddenly there were some leakage aft i finished peeing. This happened 3 times. Then i went to rest, trying to get some sleep, went to the loo again and d same thg happened. After peeing, it seems like urine keep coming non stop. Went to sleep, so far no leakage, should i call the dr to ask? Hmmm guess its not d amniotic fluid leaking, jst me being paranoid as its getting nearer to d due date. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

35 weeks 5 days preggie

We are almost there! Few more weeks to go till we meet Kaitlyn. Can't wait for her to be out in my arms, but I am trying to bake her for another few weeks although I am having lotsa contractions, painful pelvic, difficult walking and moving about, especially getting up from the bed. Just gotta be patience for at least 2 more weeks no doubt at times i just want to get her out but have to bear with the inconveniences hopefully she'll be born healthy. I am sure Isaac and Kyle is excited to meet their lil sister soon as well... Will go for my check up next week and see how things go. Hopefully she doesn't arrive before she hits 38 weeks!
